G. Michael Brown is a partner at Binnall Law Group and a lobbyist with King Street Solutions, bringing more than two decades of experience spanning law, government, politics, and the energy industry. He counsels clients through complex regulatory matters with an eye toward durable results. Brown most recently served as Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations at the U.S. Department of Energy, having previously served as the Department’s Deputy General Counsel during the first Trump administration. Those roles gave him firsthand insight into how legal, policy, operational, and political considerations intersect within the federal government.

Between his periods of federal service, Brown served as General Counsel and Vice President of UCOR, the Department of Energy’s nuclear cleanup contractor in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and as Vice President for Government Relations for QatarEnergy’s U.S. operations. Earlier, he worked in government relations for Chesapeake Energy and at the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration. His career spans oil and gas, coal, nuclear, biofuels, and solar, placing him on both sides of the government-industry relationship.

Brown also brings extensive campaign experience, having worked on presidential, U.S. Senate, gubernatorial, and other campaigns, as well as ballot initiatives across the country. His roles have included Deputy Director of Election Day Operations for the Trump campaign in 2020 and Political Director for Ben Carson’s 2016 presidential campaign.

Brown earned his J.D. and Master of Public Affairs from the University of Missouri and his bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University. He studied international law at Downing College, Cambridge, and has served as a guest lecturer at universities in the United States and the United Kingdom.
