Katie is a dedicated litigation attorney who zealously advocates on behalf of her clients. She has a deep commitment to Constitutional Law, particularly First Amendment rights. While in college, she was a passionate advocate for free speech on campus. She built a coalition to host a free speech panel, collaborated with top administrators and staff from the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE) to push for speech code reform, and worked with The Spectrum student newspaper to strengthen student representation in campus judicial proceedings. Her efforts earned her team second place in FIRE’s national Speak Truth To Power campaign in 2017.
Katie gained valuable courtroom experience before joining Binnall Law Group, including work with Neighborhood Legal Services and a federal judicial internship at the United States District Court for the Western District of New York.
A graduate of the University of Akron School of Law, Katie served as treasurer of the law school’s national mock trial team, vice-president of the Student Bar Association, and as a student member of the academic and discipline committee. She earned Best Advocate and Best Witness awards at the Ohio Attorney General’s Public Service Mock Trial Competition in 2022 and was a semifinalist at the American Association for Justice Student Trial Advocacy Competition Regionals in 2023.
A Buffalo, New York native, Katie earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Psychology from the State University of New York at Buffalo, graduating cum laude, before entering the legal field.
Katie is admitted to practice law in New York, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Tennessee, and Arizona, as well as in the District of Columbia and the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
